RALF RIDES AGAIN

Just three years after cycling from Calgary to Brampton to raise funds for the Boston Foundation for Sight, Ralf is getting on his bicycle and hitting the road again. This time, Ralf is riding to raise money for the future Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness. On July 9, 2014, Ralf will depart from just outside of Kingston, Ontario and will cycle to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, a journey of more than 1,500 km.

The Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness will shift the focus of health care from illness to wellness and encourage patients to take a more active role in managing their own health and well-being. A variety of outpatient clinics (including stroke prevention, diabetes management and cardiac rehabilitation), day surgery and urgent care units will provide the care the community needs. As part of the shift in focus to wellness, education will play an important role in informing patients about fitness, healthy diet, disease prevention and management and more.

As a long-time Brampton resident and community member, this new Centre is important to Ralf. He believes that our city is in desperate need of a second health care facility. Ralf also believes that the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness will address our community needs and lead the future of healthcare in Ontario.
