Ralf is back on his bicycle to raise money for the future Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness. On September 14, 2015, Ralf departed from Calgary, Alberta and will cycle to Tofino, British Columbia, travelling more than 1,200 km. It was just more than a year ago in July 2014 that Ralf cycled from Kingston, to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, a journey of more than 1,500 km, also in support of Peel Memorial.
Ralf’s goal is to raise $12,500.00 on this ride. Every donation which is made will be matched dollar for dollar by the Orlando Corporation which has made a time-limited pledge to match donations to Peel Memorial. As a result, every dollar raised by Ralf will result in a two dollar donation to Peel Memorial.
The Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness is scheduled to open in late 2016 or early 2017. Peel Memorial will emphasize wellness and encourage patients to take a more active role in managing their own health and well-being by providing education on topics such as fitness, healthy diet, disease prevention and management and more. There will also be a variety of outpatient clinics (including stroke prevention, diabetes management and cardiac rehabilitation), day surgery and urgent care units which will provide the care the community needs.
As a long-time Brampton resident and community member, this new Centre is important to Ralf. He believes that Peel Memorial will address our community needs and lead the future of healthcare in Ontario by helping to keep us out of hospital beds.
